MINNEAPOLIS EMINENT DOMAIN ATTORNEY WINS LANDMARK CASE AT THE MINNESOTA SUPREME COURT

Over the past few years, Minneapolis eminent domain attorney, Jon W. Morphew, has posted many articles on this blog about his ongoing battle with Hennepin County regarding the taking of property from one of his clients for its Normandale Boulevard road project. That battle has finally come to an end and Mr. Morphew and his client were victorious. On September 30, 2020, in a unanimous decision, the Minnesota Supreme Court affirmed the decision of the Minnesota Court of Appeals that evidence of construction related interference that occurs after the date of taking in eminent domain cases is admissible. This is a significant landmark decision for the rights of property owners in Minnesota that are subjected to the taking of their property for government projects.
