MEDI is a non-partisan organization comprised of Minnesota attorneys who practice primarily in the area of eminent domain law. The purpose of MEDI is to promote legislation and to advance case law that will protect the rights of property owners, tenants, and displaced persons throughout the State of Minnesota.

The MEDI Mission Statement is:

It is the objective of the MEDI, via educational and information networking channels, to promote legislative and regulatory changes and advance case law that is favorable to property owners, tenants and displaced persons and to promote just compensation and property rights for those affected by government takings.

MEDI is intended, in part, to serve as a counterbalance to the extensive lobbying and litigation efforts currently conducted by a wide variety of government-sponsored organizations, such as the League of Minnesota Cities and the Minnesota Eminent Domain Counsel Association.

The actions taken MEDI are intended to promote the fair treatment of property owners who have their property taken from them and put to public use. MEDI believes there is a strong public interest in ensuring that property owners that have their property taken from them receive just compensation, as well as any relocation benefit payments for which they are entitled to receive.

An experienced eminent domain attorney is essential in making sure that the rights of persons having their property taken for public project are protected.
